The Task

You are working in an elementary school that has computer resources available to assist in student learning.  Your role is to assist teachers and students as they use computer resources to support and improve learning in math.

The Waltham Public Schools have identified grade level benchmarks for each subject.  In addition, there are instructional technology benchmarks that are based on the Massachusetts Department of Education's Recommended Pre K-12 Instructional Technology Standards. 

Your task will require that you have an understanding of what :

• students at a particular grade level are to know in math
• students at a particular grade level are to know in instructional technology
• computer resources that will support student learning in math
• teachers are to know and to be able to do in order to use computer technology effectively.

Your task is to identify math benchmarks for your "assigned" grade level, research computers resources that are available to assist the students in their learning, and understand what teachers are to know and to be able to do in order to use computer technology effectively.   

Your task also includes organizing web-based resources in a format that will allow you, your colleagues and the teachers to retrieve the resources that support student learning in math.  iKeepbooksmarks.com is a tool that you will use to organize web based resources.
