History of Mapmaking – Timeline Assignment

Directions:

1. From your notes, select 6 historical mapmaking events and create a timeline using the HORIZONTAL timeline creator tool.

2. Make sure to include YOUR NAME in the title.

3. For each event, record the date in the date field and a description that includes the important person’s name (if available) and what they accomplished. The descriptions are captions so the information should be short but meaningful. Make sure to use your own words and record the information in the order that it happened in history, oldest event first.

4. Print the timeline.

5. Illustrate one of the events that you listed in your timeline and attach it to the timeline.
